I cant believee 4 months have FLOWN by! As I read through my last blog post I never did do that bridal show! (so if you know anyone who needs stuff for a wedding...please let me know!) :) I will give you all a quick update on our life...
Eli, what to say about that little man? He is a crazy, fun-loving, energetic, little boy. He has learned to say many things these last few months and I love hearing them! He recently got in trouble for trying to hit me, so after one quick swat to the butt, he sat down for a time out. I looked him in the eye and told him that hitting is not okay, that hitting hurts people, and b/c he tried to hit me (in the face I might add) he had to sit in time out. He looked at me with those big brown eyes and in the sweetest voice possible said "okay mama". As I got up and quickly turned around, I couldn't help but smile and laugh under my breath because he said it as if he knew it would make my heart melt. I went into the bathroom to finish getting ready for work. 2 minutes later I called him, I called him a second time, and a third time. When I poked my head out of the bathroom I saw him sitting in the same exact spot with his hands in his lap. He realized I was there looking at him, he turned to me and said "all done mama?" (again the melting heart thing...) I said, "yep, all done Eli, time to get ready for the day" and he said again in the sweet voice "okay mama". Children are such a blessing, and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this little boy. Every day after work when I go to pick him up, he smiles and runs to me with arms open ready to be picked up. I often compare myself and God to Eli and me. Every time I feel God there I want to run to him with my arms wide saying "Here I am, pick me up! Pick me up!" There are so many times when Eli runs to me crying because he bumped his head or has fallen down and I think to myself that is exactly what I do with God. I think God created children for that purpose. (maybe not, but I'd like to think so) He blessed us with Eli so we could be reminded on a daily basis that he is our Father. He wants to help me and bless me just as much as I want to help and bless Eli...if not more! So anyway...that's the catch up on Eli. :)
The catch up on me and Ellis? Pretty much the usual. I haven't learned any new words, I haven't spit out any food, its just the same old me. I guess there are a few updates now that I really think about it.
Update #1: We (Eli and I) are flying out to California this summer for my brother's wedding...and we will be making a stop in Disneyland. :)
Update #2: Ellis will be deploying to Afghanistan sometime this spring. (Please keep him in your prayers) As far as we know (or been told) he will be gone for about a year...give or take.
Update#3: God has provided me with an opportunity to go to Ghana on a mission trip this August with our church choir. He has provided child care for Eli for the 2 weeks, he has provided me with time off work (as far as I know) now all he has to provide is the finances, and I know he will!
That's pretty much it...I'm sorry I haven't blogged for so long, I cant make any promises that I will blog every day, or every week...but I sure will start trying to! (the every week one, not the every day one!) :) :)
Alright friends, I must be off...blessings on you and your families.
