Wedding Fever
I totally have wedding fever right now...even though I don't know if "wedding fever" is real and even though I'm already married. Let me tell you friends, I LOVE weddings! I love everything about them. From the brides shoes to the flowers on the cake, I love it all. I love planning weddings, I love making favors for weddings, I LOVE WEDDINGS! Okay...with all of that said, I'm in wedding planning mode for a few months because I am doing a bridal show in January! :) I'm super stoked to be coming up with ideas for new products that I can sell. I'm into the lace/applique veils right now and am looking into different styles. I'm so excited, I cant contain it! Along with the veils, I plan to sell some (of course) peacock pieces, jewelry pieces, and I have a few different ideas for party favors. I'm already collecting supplies I think will go great with different items I'm making so stay tuned for pictures! (as soon as I figure out how to put them on here) :) Everything else around here has been pretty smooth sailing. My dad is visiting right now from Washington, and I'm very blessed that he is helping me do some home renovations. We (aka my dad) has replaced the back door and the door frame, cut a new hole in the ceiling for a hatch, put up a new mail box, added eye holes in each door, the list goes on and on! :) He is headed to my brother and sister-in-law's house here pretty soon, and he will be missed. Thankfully my younger sister is planning to come out and visit with her husband soon. Ellis is planning on being here for a few days at the end of the month to pick up his car and head out again. We are hoping/praying to save enough money so we can get him home for Christmas. We already have Eli's Halloween costumes, I couldn't decide on which one to get...so I got two. :) Again...I'll post pictures as soon as I figure out how. :) I better be going, Thursday night is choir night and I still have to get Eli changed and ready to go. Sorry this post is kinda all over the place, but that is how my brain is feeling right now. :) Talk to you all soon!

Excited!
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. There hasn't been too many exciting things going on in our lives....except my dad is coming to visit! He'll be here tomorrow. And then 2 weeks from now Ellis is coming home! He'll only be here for a week, but I'll take what I can get! I will update you all with pictures and more in a few days when I actually have time to sit down and write. But for now...onto laundry! LOADS and LOADS :) I hope you are all well. Take care and God bless!

Poor Baby!
So the last two days have been anything but sane. Last night starting around 5:30, Eli started throwing up. Now many of you may say, "oh, babies spit up" but this was no spit up. This was "let's soak mommy in our dinner" throw up. I have never experienced that before, but at the time I did happen to keep my cool. Anyway, I thought it may have just been the fact that he didn't like it or he was just a little too full. That was until he threw up a second time at choir practice. I had given him a bottle because he kept reaching for my water. He had 2 ounces, just 2! One of my friends from choir held Eli while I went and cleaned up my shirt and jeans for a second time. Maybe about 20 minutes later...he did the same on my friend. At that point I was thinking "Could this night get any worse?" I should have turned my brain off right before that because it got worse. We got home after choir and all Eli wanted to do was cuddle.(that wasn't the worse part) The worse part was the fact that he wanted to cuddle to 2:30 in the morning. I didn't fall asleep till around 5:00. I figured if he had a good hard sleep he would feel better so I just let him sleep. He finally woke up around 2:00 this afternoon. I made him a small bowl of oat cereal and fruit and he wolfed it down. I thought that he was good to go. About 20-30 minutes later he crawled up beside me and fell asleep. Not even a half hour later he was awake and threw up again all over me. I figured it may be time to take him to the doctor. I called and asked what I should do and they said to bring him to the Urgent Care that was closest to me. After an hour of waiting there, they told me to bring him to the ER. We headed to the ER and waited there for about 2 hours...While we were there they gave Eli some meds to keep food down, pedialite, and crackers. Really?!? That's it? Needless to say I was a little more than upset. I asked them if Eli happened to throw up again when we were home, they told me to take him to his doctor...oh wait, his doctor said bring him to you guys! Arg....anyway, Eli is now sleeping, and I'm praying that he feels better in the morning. I dont know if I can be puked on again.... 4 times is one too many for me. :) The joys of motherhood! :)
On a brighter note...our vacation to California was great...more to come! :)
God bless you.

Photos
Okay blogger friends...I need help! Please enlighten me on how to upload pictures to my posts! I have tons of cute photos of Eli and the family and no where to put them! :)
So here's how our trip has been going so far...AHHHMAZING! It has been so great to spend time with my DH, not just regular time...but QUALITY time. It's so nice to hold hands while we watch TV, or poke fun at him when I whooped his butt at the Wii. :) (love you baby!) I really took for granted while he was with us in Virginia. It's so nice to see him, to smell his cologne, to see the way he interacts with baby Ellis...its just AHHHMAZING. :) Anyway, it's getting late and we are getting up early tomorrow to go to 6 Flags!!! Can I get a Whoop Whoop!? :) God bless my friends!

Rockin 1st Party
We had such a BLAST on Sept. 18th. That was the date of Eli's first birthday party. Our friends, Natalie and Eric, let us have his party at their house. Eli had over his friends, I had over my friends (parents of Eli's friends) :) and we had great food! A close friend of mine, Beth, made both of Eli's Sesame Street cakes. The big cake was chocolate with chocolate butter cream, and vanilla with butter cream. Eli's personal cake was Cookie Monster's face with 3 cookies in the mouth. Eli reached for his cakes as soon as he was close enough to touch them. When we sat him in the high chair and placed the cake in front of him, he knew exactly what to do. He wolfed, inhaled, scarfed down his cake. He looked like a smurf by the time he was done eating it. I forgot to mention the cool gifts he was given! Eli is truly blessed! He has had a blast playing with all of his new toys. He's already worn some of the clothes, and the rest are packed for our trip to California.
We are headed out tomorrow at 11:00 AM. We have 3 layovers on our way to Ontario, California. We will be there for about 2 weeks. We are planning to see my brother Cody along with the rest of Ellis' family. We haven't seen some of his family since our wedding! We should be arriving in Cali around 8:30. I may or may not be taking a facebook break for the next 2 weeks...not quite sure on that one yet. :)
I should get back to packing, that's right...still haven't finished, and yes, it is 2:30 AM. For those of you who know me, this (procrastination) is nothing new. :) I'm not gonna break the cycle tonight, but maybe some day I will. :) Good night my friends and blog followers.

Busy Bees
I can't believe 2 weeks have flown by! I realize now that if I don't make a habit of blogging every day, it can really get away from me. So here I am, sitting down for a little blogging therapy. Just to give everyone a little heads up on what has happened in the last two weeks...get ready, set, go!
Nothing happened with the "hurricane." We had some strong winds and a little rain but that was pretty much it. The following day it was bright and sunny, just as I thought it would be! :) (plus one Bronwyn!)
The next few days flew by. I started cleaning and packing up the house with a little help from my friends. (I get by with a little help from my friends...) Yes, I now have that song stuck in my head. Joy.
The following weekend, the 9th to be exact, we (Eli and I) flew to California for my cousin's wedding. It was a pretty sweet wedding, including great music, adorable dresses, yummy food, and amazing company. We were able to see family members that we haven't seen in a long time, or in Eli's case...he hasn't seen ever. :) He had such a great time meeting everyone. The majority of our family ended up leaving that Sunday, but our flight was on Monday morning at 11. Cody drove us to the airport at 5 in the morning because he had to be at school by 8. Thankfully Eli passed out about 30 minutes after getting there. We were able to check our bags by 7 and we headed to the USO after that. For those of you who don't know what the USO is...it's a place for military members and their families to go and wait for their flights, or wait for someone to pick them up. They gave us free breakfast and Eli had a great time playing in their kid's room. We headed to our flight around 9:45 to board, and we were home around 9 PM.
This week has been pretty laid back, we just have been hanging out with friends and getting ready for Eli's first birthday party! I should be going, we are about to eat some supper. I promise friends, I will start writing on a more consistent basis. Besides, I'll have lots to write about tomorrow...I can tell you all about his party! Hopefully I'll figure out how to post some pictures! :)
God's love to you.

Skeptic
Skeptic [skep-tik]
-noun
A person who questions the validity or authenticity of something purporting to be factual.
Yep, That's me! The majority of people here (in Virginia) are freaking out about Hurricane Earl. I have friends who are boarding up their windows (which should probably be done) and putting sandbags out, and have every right to do so. I on the other hand haven't done much. I did however, with the help of Natalie, tape plastic bags all the way around my chimney b/c it tends to leak. It doesn't pour water or anything, just leaks on a regular basis...I figured a hurricane wasn't a regular basis thing, so I said better safe than sorry! I also covered Ellis' car b/c I don't want that to get ruined or anything. I don't think Hurricane Earl is going to touch the land at all, but I am convinced we will get plenty of wind and rain...My prediction (for what its worth) is that it will be nice and sunny on late Friday or Saturday, just in time for Eli and I to head to Busch Garden's on Sunday after church! :)
Our plans for this evening? We are headed over to Eric and Natalie's house for a hurricane party! :) We got a bunch of movies from redbox and we are all gonna hang out. We do have choir at 7:00 if the weather holds out, and I think it will.
I'll let you all know soon if I should become a weather forecaster :) If I can predict the weather for this weekend, maybe it's the perfect job for me! LOL :)
Regardless of my thoughts on the hurricane, I hope and pray you all stay safe through this weekend, and hurricane season!

New People
Who doesn't love meeting fun new people and eating great food? I do, that's for sure! Tonight I was invited to a Pampered Chef party by my friend, Claudia. I had such a great time meeting new women, the majority Army Wives! (or other branches of the military) We made some tasty food and had a great time talking about everything! I'm very thankful to have other women that are going through the same things we are or the same things we will be going through.
I think the highlight of the evening for me (besides getting new bamboo spoons! and a can opener!) was meeting Claudia's 3 month baby boy for the first time. Marco is such a little stud! The funniest thing is...he and Eli are the exact same size! Can you believe it?!? I laid Eli down next to Marco on the play mat and they were the same height, same weight, same everything! It totally made my night.
That's pretty much what went on today...I'm still trying to figure out how to have pictures in my blogs, again...I'm new to this, so bare with me! :) See you all tomorrow!

Amazed
Many words would express or describe the way I'm feeling right now. If I started listing them I would run out of room. A good word to sum up all of my feelings would be amazed. After the day I had yesterday, I figured today could only get better...and boy did it ever! A good friend of mine decided to come over and help me get things started on cleaning. I will be the first to admit that I let my house get way out of control since Ellis left for the Army. I'm sure all of us had the feeling of being overwhelmed by something...take that and multiply it by 10 and ya got me! :) Thank you to Heather for helping me out today, I really appreciate your willingness to pick up my laundry, wash my dishes and for your friendship.
I think the only thing that could make my day better was if I had a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger from Wedny's. (thanks Brenna for the reminder)
On a side note...I had to run to the grocery store to get milk this evening. When I came out of the store I noticed that the Honda parked next to me had all sorts of gadgets inside...I couldn't help but sneak a peak. First off, it had a fan hooked on to the dash board with some sort of mount. As I was contemplating the purpose of having an extra fan hooked to the db, I look over and I see an extra cup holder attached to the driver's door. What the heck? I guess the person who drives this car enjoys having 4 drinks at one time with a little burst of extra air. You know, because who doesn't want extra air blowing on you after having 4 a/c vents blowing on you. Anyway, I just thought it was funny that a new Honda would have all these different gadgets and add ons and I thought I would share with you. :)
Alright, I'm going to bed now that it's WAY past my bedtime. Thank you to Natalie who watched Eli all day so I could clean...he came home bathed, fed, and ready for bed! The perfect ending to a great day!

What a day
Today was one of those days...you know you've had them, we all have. The kind of day you want to rewind, or crawl under a rock, and or just start all over. (maybe all three together?) My emotions got the best of me and Satan just reached right in there, took them, and threw them back at me. I let him get to me...
For those of you who don't know, Ellis and I have been transfered to Ft. Hood, Texas. We are trying to figure out what God wants us to do...and it's hard! Have you ever tried figuring out what God wants and then end up blank? It happens to me all the time and I think thats the point. Faith. He wants us to just trust him no matter what. I have such a hard time remembering that he will ALWAYS take care of me. I also have a hard time realizing that I really dont have control over my life...or anything for that matter. A very close friend of mine reminded me that my dad would do anything to help us out, I mean ANYTHING...so why wouldn't God do that for me too? I mean, he did send his son to die for me...that's what it's all about. It's not about whether we have TV or have the internet or whatever other earthly possession. It's about the fact that a God who can create anything in this universe and more would choose to send his only son to die for me and save me from myself! He cares for me more than anything that he has made, and I love that. I love that I have a heavenly father who would do anything for me. I know that he is going to take care of us. I know that he is going to provide us either a renter and or a buyer for our house. His word promises me that he will take care of me. I am more important to him than the lilies or the birds of the air. I know that he will provide a place for us wherever he wants us. If he wants us to stay in Norfolk while Ellis goes to Texas that is what will happen. If he wants us to go to Texas then he will send us someone that is willing to meet our financial needs.
After writing all of that, I realize that I wouldn't rewind this day at all. I've learned an amazing thing, and that is, even though Satan may have won a few battles today...Christ has won this war.
Eli happened to have a breakdown of his own. :) But his is related to teefers. Thats right, he is cutting his 6th and 7th teeth! My heart melts every time I see his toothy grin. Let's pray they come in soon and they dont cause too much pain.
I know I dont have many readers yet, but for those of you who do read this, please pray that God will make clear to us where he wants us. And of course, pray for strength. Thank you!

Here it is!
So I had the great idea to start a blog about our life in the military and whatever else comes to my mind, but all of a sudden...oh yeah, I have nothing coming to mind! :)
I guess my first order of business would be to thank my friend Megan for helping me design my blog. "Helping" meaning she designed the whole after I told her I wanted something Red, White, and Blue. :) So, thank you Megan for all of your help.
My second order of business would be to write. I'll let you know that my life isn't too interesting, I'm not the best writer, but I think a blog is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family and its great therapy!
Let me tell you a little about my family. My husband is in the Army. (you probably caught that when you read the title of my blog) We have been married for a little over 4 years and have one beautiful baby boy who is one of the many joys in our life. He is a handful at times but we wouldn't trade him for the world. We live in Virginia as of now, but everyone knows that when you are in the military, where you live is subject to change! We are praying that God shows us the way he wants us to go and that he will provide! Until next time blogger friends! Take care and God bless you!
